Hosting a satellite exhibition at Un Grito Gallery in the Blue Star Arts Complex creates an intimate environment where new audiences can engage directly with artists and offers emerging collectors accessible opportunities to acquire original works
October will be a dynamic month, highlighting a range of engaging activities, including a central exhibition, an artist panel discussion, murals, and a gallery showcasing emerging artists perfect for new collectors. The main exhibition will be held at the Carver Community Center from October 9 to November 14, 2025, featuring contemporary works by 14 artists from the USA, Mexico, and Canada.
Beyond the exhibitions, Parallel 29 will feature an artist panel discussion and a live painting performance culminating in the creation of a large-scale artwork. This intimate setting will provide a space for participating artists to share their experiences exhibiting internationally, navigating identity within the art world, and building cross-border connections. The panel aims to foster an open, enriching dialogue that deepens the audience’s understanding of contemporary Latin American art and its evolving role on the global stage
Michel Iniestra is a painter whose practice bridges classical oil techniques with the immediacy of aerosol, merging traditional and urban languages. His work explores themes of memory, nostalgia, and personal loss. In Saudade, a central body of work, he portrays astronauts as symbols of fragile inner selves—lost in time, grieving, and searching for connection. Through his art, Iniestra creates intimate spaces where sadness and beauty coexist, inviting viewers to reflect on absence, identity, and unresolved emotion.
Marisol D Estrabeau is a Mexican visual artist whose work bridges painting, muralism, and illustration. Drawing from her connection to nature, ancestral traditions, and the imagination, her visual language features spiritual beings, alebrijes, dreamlike landscapes, and symbols of healing. Influenced by Totonac culture and Mexican identity, her work is a poetic reflection on joy, memory, and emotional transformation, using vibrant color as a tool for connection and inner exploration
Mónica Bosch is a Mexican artist based in San Antonio, TX, whose vibrant mixed-media work blends symbolism, sacred geometry, and emotional storytelling. Through series like Peaceful Girls, Anatomical Hearts, and The Miracles, she explores themes of identity, healing, and connection—transforming spaces with color, texture, and meaning. She currently leads Parallel 29, a cultural exchange project linking Mexico and the U.S
LeĂłn Alva is a multidisciplinary artist whose work weaves together drawing, painting, and large-scale murals. His visual universe is inhabited by mythological beings, symbolic landscapes, and surreal narratives that reflect on history, identity, and contemporary society. Influenced by ancient iconography and popular culture, Alva constructs poetic images that bridge the sacred and the everyday. Through intricate detail and expressive color, his work invites contemplation and dialogue between memory, myth, and modern life.
By expanding its role in the global arts conversation, we position San Antonio as a key player in the international cultural dialogue—reinforcing the city’s reputation as a hub for cross-border artistic collaboration and strengthening connections between artists, institutions, and audiences worldwide
Simply by occupying this space, these works make a bold declaration: ART UNITES. Through their distinctive explorations of identity, history, and creative expression, the artists invite audiences to look beyond prevailing narratives and experience Mexico through a personal, authentic lens, free from stereotypes
To broaden the project’s impact and amplify the distinctive voices of Parallel 29’s artists, we will host a series of smaller “parallel” exhibitions throughout the city. These satellite presentations will ensure diverse audiences have multiple opportunities to experience the work in different artistic settings
With great enthusiasm, we launch our first international exhibition, a project that marks a milestone in our collaborative work. From our distinct career paths —Mónica Bosch, with a solid artistic trajectory developed internationally, and my work in creative direction, production, management, and artistic direction— we have found a common ground: to promote art as a driving force for cultural connection and global projection.
This project is born from the conviction that art is a universal language capable of fostering meaningful dialogue, opening spaces for collaboration, and transcending borders. The exhibition we present today is the result of a process in which talent, experience, and a shared vision converge: to create platforms where artists and audiences from different contexts can meet and enrich one another.
We are grateful to all the individuals, institutions, and partners who have made this effort possible.
Today, we take the first step in a proposal we aspire to consolidate as a reference in international artistic exchange. With this inauguration, we open not only an exhibition, but a living space for dialogue, creativity, and community building through art.
